POTATO IMPORTS
Britain Plans Regulation CONTROL OF MARKETING (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, August 31. The Minister of Agriculture to-day had an interview with representatives of potato-exporting countries with a view to emergency action for the regulation of imports, pending the coming int operation of the home marketing schemes, and of a permanent "system for the regulation of potato imports. It has now been arranged that during four months, September to December, imports into the United Kingdom from the Netherlands and Belgium will not exceed 8000 tons and 250 tons respectively. Other foreign exporting countries, which do not usually export potatoes to the United Kingdom market at this time of the year,, have been asked to refrain from doing so for the remainder of the year.
