Fryer East Coast) 6 and 5 in the flnal match, which was played under perfect golfing conditions. It was a triumph of steadiness for the veteran Lusk, who never deviated from his game over the whole distance. Fryer drove a particularly long and accurate ball throughout, but his putting was patchy, and this lost him the match. He turned 4 down at the 18th, and Lusk maintained his game to win comfortably. There was an unusual coincidence during the match when Fryer hit his tee shot at the ninth into a small mud geyser which had erupted in a hazard on -the ninth green. ,He took three to get out, and gave up the hole. On the second round in the afternoon he did exactly the same thing, the ball landing In a scrape left at his first visit.
