The Flower Garden. Plant out stocks, nemesia, antirrhinums, pansies, phlox, and Iceland poppies. ' . Sow new lawns, topdress, mow and roll old ones at regular intervals. Lift, divide and replant delphiniums. Protect from slugs by running a ring of ashes round each plant. ■ .■ ■ Keep the hoe busy on weed seedlings, especially-after rain. Propagate by cuttings such plants as lobelias, chrysanthemums and perpetual carnations. Continue planting gladiodi for a succession of bloom The Vegetable Plot. Sow broad beans, cabbage, cauliflower, potatoes, peas, parsnips, Brussels sprouts, beet and carrots. Plant out cabbage, lettuce, garlic and cauliflower. Sow under glass cape gooseberries, cucumbers, melons, marrows. pumpkins, celery and tomatoes. Dig in green crops at the earliest opportunity. Plant the last lot of rhubard and commence planting of asparagus —if the ground has been prepared. Plant out autumn-sown onions. Spray peaches and nectarines with lime-sulphur 1-50.
