TENNIS VISIT

English Players Expected on October 16 STAY IN NEW ZEALAND Further, news of the expected visit from an English tennis team next season was announced last evening by the chairman, Mr. A. G. Henderson, at the annual meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association. The management committee, Mr. Henderson said, had been in touch with the English association for some time, and had just received a cablegram announcing that three players, F. J. Perry, G. 11. N. Lee, and F. H. D. Wilde would leave San Francisco on September 27, and would arrive at Wellington on October 16. They would be able to stay for a fortnight or three weeks. “I think,” Mr. Henderson continued, “that the Australians Quist and Turnbull will be coining on the same boat. The date is not entirely suitable, but it may yet be possible to arrange, better. Altogether the visit should provide an excellent start for the new season.’
