BIG POWER STATION
Air Pollution Eliminated (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, August 28. The first part of the great new power station at Battersea, London, designed to produce power of 400,000 to 500,000 kilowatts, is expected to be finished in time to begin operations before the end of the year. It is built on a fifteen-acre site on the south bank of the Thames, and is the only station, of its kind in which a nitrate of sulphur eliminating apparatus has been installed. This was evolved after'large scale experiments by chemists and engineers, and is expected to prevent the pollution of London air. The apparatus has satisfied Government chemists of its efficiency.
