CENSURE MOTION
N.S.W. Legislative Assembly MR. J.’T. LANG’S CHARGES By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. (Received August 29, 9.55 p.m.) Sydney, August 29. In the Legislative Assembly to-day Mr. J. T. Lang, Leader of the Opposition, moved a censure motion based on the Government’s so-called disregard of the privations of the unemployed and the “filching" of £3,000,060 from the wages tax fund and diverting it to the consolidated revenue, thereby depriving starving families of muchneeded sustenance. The Premier, Mr. B. S. B. Stevens, in the course of his reply, declared tbe Government bad actually spent £2,173,313 more than in the previous year on unemployment relief. The remainder of Mr. Lang’s speech, added Mr. Stevens, lacked trust and real understanding of present problems. The motion was defeated on a party division by 53 votes to 24.
