SWISS FLYER’S FATE

Drowned in the Congo Cape Town, August 28. It has been definitely -■ established that the Swiss airman, Carl Nauer, was drowned in the Congo on August 6. Nauer, who flew from Zurich to Australia, left Cape Town at dawn on August 5, hoping to lower Amy Johnson’s record to London. On the 9th, Dunin, in the Cameroons, telegraphed that, nothing had been seen of Nauer since he left Mossamedes. A number of rescuers volunteered to search.
