Senior B Championship WELLINGTON THE WINNERS The senior B’Rugby football championship was declared closed and awarded to the Wellington club at last evening’s meeting of the management committee'of the Wellington Rugby Union, at which Mr. J. Prendeville presided, i Lower grade championships were awarded as follow :—Juniors, second division, Oriental; third grade, second division, Karori; third grade, third division, Athletic; fburth grade, second division, Onslow; sixth grade, Hutt; seventh grade, Wellington. It was decided that a trial game be played next Saturday to assist the selectors to. choose the junior representative team to travel to Wairarapa; that a trial game, third division v. second division, be played on Saturday next; and that a second' trial game, combined third and second division v. first division, be played on September 9. , . . Approvah was given to the playing of the following matches: —Treasury v. Lands and Survey Department, at Kelburn Park, on September 7; Railway Head Office v. Railway District Traffic Manager’s Office, Kelburn Park, September 6; Whitcombe and Tombs v. Gordon and Goth, September 2 ; Bcrhampore Baptist Bible Classes v. Lyall Bay Baptist Bible Classes, Lyall Bay, September 16; Onslow club v. Martinborough, at Martinborough, early in September; Wellington South Church of Christ v. Vivian Street Church of Christ, September 16; Telephone Exchange v. Green Cabs, Kelburn Park, August 30; Upper Hutt club v. Martinborough club, Maidstone Park, September 16. As the players had qualified with the required number of games, representative blazers were awarded to H. N. Lilburne (Hutt) and F. Fuller (Eastbourne), and

representative caps to J. Butler (Marist) and J. Dellabarca (Eastbourne). ; Subject to the ground being available, the Poneke club was granted permission to hold a sports day at Athletic Park at the end of the season, when members of the club will compete for the Bell Cup, which was donated by a relation of a late old member of the club. Mr. C. G. Porter wrote stating that with the object of assisting the Wanganui Football Union he had been asked to arrange for a local senior team to meet a Wanganui team at Wanganui on September 9. He pointed out that Mr. S. Shearer would be willing to accompany the team as manager, and that players making the trip would not be participating in any club or representative fixture on that date. The necessary permission to hold the match was granted.
