TALKIES AT SEA

Wanganella Installation On her last visit to Sydney the Hud dart, Parker motor-liner Wanganella, which arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from that port, was equipped with a talking picture apparatus. During the Tasman crossing two screenings were given, both proving very successful, judging fiy the favourable comments of the vessel's passengers. The equipment is fitted on the promenade deck, which is completely enclosed with canvas screens while films are being screened. The Wanganella is the first intercolonial passenger vessel to be fitted with talkies. Most of the intercolonial vessels are fitted with silent picture apparatus. The Union Company’s motor-liner Aorangi, in the Vancouver mail service, was fitted with talkies last November.
