Ruapehu Club Meeting THE FINAL EVENTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. The Chateau, August 28. The Ruapehu Ski Club's winter sports meeting at Mount Ruapehu was concluded to-day. The club championship was won by Mr. Brian Murphy, of Dawson’s Falls, .Mount Egraont. The order, in wliicli points were allotted for the championship, which is awarded on the best performances in four events —downhill, long distance, ski jump, and slalom events —is (maximum possible 400) : B. Murphy, 387; H. Snowdon (Hawera), 232; N., P. Lealand (New Plymouth). 222; R. C. Murie (Wellington), 209. The tournament ended in a sweeping victory for the Taranaki competitors. No club championship is awarded to the winner of the ladies’ events, but the Taranaki competitors showed superior form. Miss Patricia Murphy (Dawson’s Falls), sister of Mr. Brian Murphy, won the ladies’ downhill race. Miss Joyce Beale, Stratford, won the slalom.
