Cuban Revolution Aftermath Havana, August 25. Taking a firm grip of power, the provisional President (Senor De Cespedes) on Friday issued a decree wiping out all vestiges of the ousted regime, dissolving Congress, and calling for elections on February 24. • The measure declares unconstitutional the Administration and its acts since May 20, 1929, when ex-President. Machado was inaugurated as President for a second term. z All international obligations will tie observed, however. MACHADO’S PLANS Proposed Visit to Canada Ottawa, August 25. A cable message went forward from the Government on Friday to the Governor ofi the Bahamas (Captain the Hon. B. E. H. Clifford) stating that the entry into Canada of ex-President Machado, of Cuba, and three associates, would be arranged. The ex-President plans to stay two or three months in Montreal.
