Expert observers forecast a substantial rise in wool prices when the Sydney sales open to-morrow. They even predict a rise to the extent of 25 to 30 per cent, above the rates ruling a year ago. j IMPROVEMENT OF WOOL New Zealand Effort Approved (Received August 27, 5.5 p.m.) London, August 26., Miss Hoewy, secretary of the New Zealand wool publicity effort, conferred with the leaders of the industry in Yorkshire, including Lord Barnby, who cabled Mr. H. D. Acland, president of the Sheepowners’ Federation at Christchurch, approving of the proposal to form a wool council in New Zealand, having as its object the improvement of wopl-growing and marketing.
