DELIGHTFUL PARTY
Dance at Petone Mr. and Mrs.- C. L. Neilsen, of Ava Street, Petone, gave a delightful party on Saturday evening in the Central Bowling Club’s pavilion. The hall was beautifully decorated with balloons, streamers, and Chinese lanterns. On arrival each guest was received by Mr. and Mrs. Neilsen, and handed a card with his or her name inscribed, thus dispensing with the formality of introdjictions. The 70 guests were given a most entertaining evening,, and all sorts' of novelties were introduced in the dances. The Gay Gordons dance was particularly enjoyable. The dances, the music of which was played by Messrs. W. Johnson and H. ( Pettit, were interspersed with the following musical items: Miss Tui Pennell, songs; Miss Hilda Webster, song and tap dance; Miss Edna McCarthy, songs; Mrs. Robert Dawson, songs; Mrs.. Charlesworth, recitations; Miss Clarice Neiisen, recitations. The playing of Mr. and Mrs. Jameson and family’s orchestra was much appreciated. Mrs. Neilsen's gown was a cherry red georgette, with blatk cape; Miss Iris Neilsen wore a becoming floral dress, and her younger sister, Clarice, g pretty black velvet dress. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. R. Dawson, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Alexander, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. W. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. D. Jameson, Mr. and Mrs. Neil McKinnon, Mr. and Mrs. l Grey, Mr. and Mrs. J. Porter, Mr. and Mrs. Woodward, Mr. and Mrs. Parrant, Mrs. Charlesworth, Mrs. Thomson, Mr. and Mrs. Wakelin, Misses M. Topham, JJetty Collie, F. McCain, E. McCarthy, P. McFarlane, J. W. Collie, M. R. Collie, Hilda Webster, Alice Findlay, J. Lines, M. Rossborough, Tui Pennell, G. Turner, 1 G. Wakelin, O. Rye, Iris and Clarice Neilsen, J. Young, M. Klee, Messrs. H. Pettit, A. Judd, G. Louden, W. Leighton, H. Hardy, W. T. McFarlane, G. Klee; Hardy, Del and Mick Jameson, J. Lines, ,C. Watt, F. Young, Ivan Broad,' J. Dales, H. Collie. Mr. W. G. Alexander was. respon-* sible for the arrangement of the dance programme. Mr. Grey expressed the appreciation of all present for a most enjoyable evening and the hospitable reception given by their host and hostesses.
