Packet and newspaper mail closes half an hour before the time of closing ordinary letter-malls:— TUESDAY. AUGUST 22. Australian States; China, Japan, Straits Settlements, South Africa, per Maunganui, 1 p.m. C.P.0l late fee 2 p.m. (steamer, 2.45 p.m.). Parcel mail closes 11 a.m. THURSDAY, AUGUST 24. Australian States; Ceylon, India, China, Straits Settlements, Egypt and South Africa per Marama from Auckland, 1.30 p.m. C.P.O. late fee 6 p.m. Late fee box outside Thorndon Station, 7 p.m. Parcel ail closes Wednesday, 4 p.m. FRIDAY. AUGUST 25. Fiji, Tonga. Apia, Pago Pago. Hawaiian Islands and Japan; also specially addressed correspondence for Canada, United States of America. Mexico. West Indies, Great Britain, Ireland and Europe (due London Sept. 19), per Mariposa from Auckland, 1.30 p.m. C.P.O. late fee 6 p.m. Parcel mail for Fiji, Tonga, Apia, Pago Pago and Hawaii" - ’ Islands closes noon. Great Britain, Ireland and Europe, for correspondence specially addressed ‘ per Raranga”; also all States of South America via Montevideo, per Raranga, 10 a.m. C.P.O. late fee 11 a.m. Parcel mail closes Friday, 4 p.m. Mails reach London approximately Oct. 7.
