Mrs. A. J. Benzie, Avonside, arrived in Wellington yesterday en route .for England. Miss Eunice Rockstrow, Eastbourne, has returned from a visit to Mrs. W. H. Percy, Masterton. Canon and Mrs. Mortimer-Jones, who have been visiting Wellington, have returned to Hastings. Mrs. R. C. Austin, Tyndall Street. Pahiatua, has returned from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. 11. Gibson, Manaia, is the guest of Mrs. W. M. Falconer, St, John’s Hill, Wanganui. Miss B. Vallance, Cole Street, Masterton, has returned from a visit to Pllmmerton.

Mrs. John Ritchie and Miss Alice Ritchie, Dunedin, are spending a short holiday in Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Chillman, Wellington, are staying at “Hillsbrook,” Havelock North.

Mrs. W. B. Mercer, Grass St. Oriental Bay, will leave to-morrow for Auckland where she Intends spending several months. J

Miss E. Jones, Terrace End, Palmerston North, who has been visiting the Rev. W. B. and Mrs. Pickering, Pahiatua, has returned home. Mrs. Pearson, vice-president of the Y.W.C.A., Wellington, motored Miss van Asch van Wyck to Palmerston North yesterday. Sir Reginald and Lady Skelton, England, are the guests of Mrs. Ferrar, Scorching Bay, and will leave for the south to-morrow.

Miss Ida Shearer has returned to Wanganui from the Wairarapa, where she visited Mrs. Carne Bidwell and Mrs. Beresford Maunsell.

Mrs. F. Hodson, Wellington, who has been the guest of Lady Acland, St. Albans, Christchurch, has returned home.

Mrs. George Wilson and her daughter Garde are the guests of Miss Jessie Morrison, Blair Logie Station, Masterton. Mrs. H. S. Hislop is staying at Ben Lomond, Napier, and Miss Marjorie Styles is visiting Mrs. Tomlinson, Glen Road, Kelburn. Mrs. F. Nelson, Pahiatua, who has been visiting Dr.' and Mrs. D. Bett, Princess Street, Palmerston North, has returned to her home.

Mrs. Preston Thomas, of Mortlelgh, Hastings, is staying at Chilton St. James’ School, Lower Hutt, for a few days as the guest of Miss Fitz Gerald.

Miss Ava Brewer, who has been paying a round of visits to friends' in Waitotara, is visiting Mrs. Wilkie in Wanganui prior to leaving for Auckland, en route for England.

Mrs. Turton, Grosvenor Terrace, Wadestown, will leave by the Tainui on August 22 to live with Miss Kai Levin in London, where they have taken a flat in the vicinity of Sloane St. Mr. and Mrs. R. 0. Pockley, Wellington, who, for business reasons, at the last moment were unable to sail by the Makura.last week, will leave for Sydney by the Wanganella to-day. Miss Nancy Crompton, eldest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Crompton, Havelock North, is visiting relatives in Adelaide.

Miss Ruth Herrick, Napier, deputy Dominion Commissioner for Girl Guides, left for the south last night, and will visit Christchurch and Invercargill on Guide business.

Miss J. A. Currie, recently retired from the teaching staff of the Wanganui Girls’ College, has been elected as the parents’ representative on the College Board of Governors. Mrs. Winchester, a Christchurch visitor to Hastings, is being entertained at many little parties. She is visiting her sisters, Mrs.’P. H. Burr, Hastings, and Mrs. K. E. Mac-Lean, Havelock North.

Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Lowry arrived from Hawke’s Bay yesterday and are staying .at the Midland Hotel. They will leave for Sydney by the Wanganella to-day. Mrs. F. Needham will arrive in Wellington to-morrow on a visit to Mrs. J. B. L. Needham and Mrs. Norman McFarlane. Before returning to Christchurch she will pay a visit to Mrs. Kent, Paekakariki.
