Returns for Wanganui SALES TAX DECREASES Dominion Speciai Service. Wanganui, August 2. Customs revenue collected at Wanganui last month amounted to £2911/18/7, as against £3845/3/- in duly the previous year. For the seven months ended July. 1933, Customs revenue at Wanganui totalled £25.032/10/9. and for the same period last year the total amount collected was £23.805. Beer dutv collected locally during July amounted to £37.1/5/-, as against £262 13/7 for July, 1932. The total for seven months this year was £2631/14/11. and for the siime period last year t.—vGi/J—/ J, a decrease of £2O/17/2. Tire tax collected last month amounted to £lO9/6/-, and for July last year £279/2/-. The total for the seven months ending July was £2355/12/-. and for the game period last year £2119/0/9. a decrease of £753 Petrol tax paid locally last month amounted to £646/3/6, and for the corresponding month last year ,£1154/9/-. The total for the seven mouths ending Julv was £7317/15/6, and for the same period last year £6-101/13/-, an increase of £961/2/6. Sales tax paid in 'Wanganui has been decreasing steadily since April, when the total amount paid was £2239 13/2. May’s total was £1835/4/3, June’s £1784/17/3, and July’s £1584/5/8.
