FATAL CRASH
Carrier Killed When Lorry Falls Over Bank By Telegraph—Press Association New Plymouth. July 31. Roy Hayward, a Nortuanby carrier, aged about- 26, was killed when his motor lorry crashed over a bank seven miles south of Ilawera this evening. Mr. Hayward leaves a widow and two young children. It is believed that Sir. Hayward was dazzled by the lights of a car, the night, being wet. The lorry struck a post, and Mr. Hayward was thrown on to the road. He died within half an hour. It was believed tliat George Brown, who worked witli Mr. Hayward, was a passenger in tlie lorry. The police made a fruitless search of’ the steep hillside, and subsequently learned that Mr. Brown had left the lorry a few miles down the road.
