FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Jolly Club Celebrates

On Saturday a dance was held in St. Katharine’s Hall, Newtown, to celebrate the first anniversary of the formation of the Jolly Club, and despite adverse weather conditions a large number of members and friends attended. A beautiful cake was made and presented by Miss O. Oliver. Dancing was interspersed with vocal and elocutionary items, presented by Misses E. Charles, M. Connor, and Mr. F. Waller. The president, Mr. O. S. Oliver, in welcoming the guests, outlined the objects and activities.of the club. Amoug those present were Mr. and Mrs. N. Gregory, Mr. and. Mrs. A. Black, Mesdames Phillips and Kouch, Misses K. Sargeant, M. Ness, M. Black, M. and E. Ryan, M. O’Dea, M. Connor, O. Oliver, A. Smith, A. Thomson, J. Walsh, E. Charles, Messrs. F. Waller, H. Mander, B. O’Dea, E. Vaney, G. Swain, T. Locke, A. Jensen, G Sims, O Oliver, R. Vaney, and F. Black (secretary). Mrs. Phillips and Mr. Swain provided excellent dance music.
