An Early-Morning Arrest CASES IN POLICE COURT On the application of Detective-Ser-geant Revell, a remand until June 19 was granted to Harry William Porter, window-cleaner, aged 28, who was charged before Mr. E. Page, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday with breaking and entering the D.I.C. with intent to commit a crime. Mr. Revell said accused was caught in the building early on Saturday morning by the manager and Detective Ritchie. A search was later made of accused’s home, where a quantity of articles ■ valued at betw’een £5O and £lOO were found. Accused, who was represented by Mr. A. B. Sievwright, was allowed bail. By False Pretences James Patrick O’Brien, labourer, aged 37, who appeared on two charges of obtaining money by false pretences, was fined £2 and ordered to make restitution Of £2 on the first charge. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence within 12 months, if called upon, on the second charge. Remand to Blenheim A remand to appear at Blenheim on Thrjrsday was granted to Edmond Norman Connolly, labourer, aged 22, who was charged with breaking and entering the premises of Ronald Patchett, 13 Stuart Street, Blenheim, and stealing goods to the value of
