NUT CREAM Take A oz. powdered gelatine, 1 spoonful vanilla essence, Coz. sugar, 4 spoonfuls of nuts, and a little whipped cream. Dissolve gelatine in a gill of boiling water, add sugar, then vanilla essence, find nuts and cream. Stir till it begins to set. Pour into wet mould. —Sent by John Ensor (aged 10), Hastings. KHAKI NUT Two cups of brown sugar. Half a cup of milk. Half a cup of chopped walnuts. Essence to flavour. Boil for ten minutes, add walnuts, and beat until nearly thick.
