SMALL FARM SCHEME

Satisfied With Progress VIEWS OF A MINISTER By Telegraph—Press Association. Daimevirke, April 27. "I had the opportunity of inspecting a number of Crown farms, and I was more than satisfied with the progress being made,” said the Minister of Lands, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, who recently returned from a tour of the Auckland province in connection with the development of the small farm scheme, in an Interview at Dannevirke Mr. Ransom said the Government loans had enabled a number of settlers with limited capital to take up new country. It was Interesting to note, he said, that practically all the settlers were dairy farmers. The Minister said his general impression of the trip was that there were excellent opportunities for young men with limited capital to take up farming.
