VISIT TO PAGO PAGO
Governor-General’s Cruise AN AMERICAN CONTACT (Special to Press Assn.—By Radio.) Pago Pago, April 26. With the ship’s band playing the “Star Spangled Banner,” the Diomede berthed at Pago Pago wharf at noon. Lord Bledisloe returned official calls from the American Governor, Air. Landenberger. Later their Excellencies were guests at a kava ceremony and entertainment. The visitors were most hospitably entertained by Air. Landenbergcr. The following telegram was dispatched to the Secretary of State at Washington:— "The Governor of American Samoa and the Governor-General of New Zealand, as mandatory for Western Samoa, are meeting in friendly intercourse at Pago Pago, and desire to express to. the President of the United Slates and the Prime Alinister of Great Britain the hope that the present deliberations will eventuate satisfactorily, conferring on the whole world the prosperity and happiness of industrial progress.—Signed, Landenberger, Bledisloe.”
