SHE KNEW HER HISTORY
PONSTANCE CUMMINGS, the lovely young star who lias come over from Hollywood to play for 8.1. P. Iu England, spent her first Sunday in London sightseeing. Touring by ear, she saw the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace before driving past the Houses of Parliament- Whitehall and Trafalgar Square, through the city by St. Paul's Cathedral, the Bank of England, and the Monument, over
Tower Bridge to the Tower of London. Here she was completely enthralled and very distressed that owing to a temporary order she could not take photographs. It was here that she put her English escorts to shame by correcting historical facts concerning the Tower which they had proudly declaimed. "1 know English history better than my own.’ said Constance. "And. believe me, Mary Queen of Scots was never in tlie Tower.” The escorts blushed deeply.
George Gee. who will be remembered for his successful appearances in New Zealand under the J. C. Williamson banner, has been elevated to stardom at Elstree, and will lie seen in "Cleaning Up. the story of a vacuum-cleaner salesman who tucns actor.
