Paremata Easter Regatta RESULTS OF EVENTS More than fifty centreboEivd yachts of various classes competed at Paremata on the fiyst day, yesterday, of the annual Easter regatta. There was a fresh fullsail breeze in the increasing tQ a strong wind later in the day, and a large crowd of spectators saw some exciting racing. The main event of the day, the firstclass general handicap in the afternoon, was won by one of the Paremata entrants, Peggy (R- Parkin), who started neat’ scratch and overhauled all the competitors in front of her, coming home well ahead of the scratch boat, Lavina, and Miss Josephine. The other race for first-class yachts, a sweepstake sealed handicap, was w’on by Lavina from scratch. This crack Port Nicholson yacht was captained by Nigel Blair. Miss Josephine (Paremata) was second. Putorino capsized, and Peggy retired after breaking a bobstay. There were favourable tides both ways, atvl Lavina finished only 51 seconds behind the course record. Oreroa managed to overtake the longhandicanped Whoopee in the second-class general handicap race, with (Tui (scr.) fairly close UP third- .
