East Harbour Residents Wonderful interest has been displayed by eaSt harbour residents. ih the queen contest, which is being held In conjunction with the Easter fair in aid of the lodal distress fund. Although the campaign has been in progress Only twelve diys, reports from all quartets indicate that the fair will be one Of the most successful ever held in the district. Dances, bridge parties, ping-pong tournaments, and -many other events have been held during the past week in the interests of queen candidates, and in this way many hundreds of votes have been gained for the various candidates. Moreover, each vote represents some money for the relief of unemployment and the alleviation of distress. - ' ■ “Fancy dress and gala days’ is the slogan of the young people. One advocate strongly contends that every resident who falls to wear fancy dress during the Easter fair Should be fined. It is an alluring prospect, and the gala spirit will be abroad both night and day, because the joy of make-believe will have claimed the hearts of all. Fahey dress balls are to be held, and already the question is on many lips: “What are you goifig to wear?” Fancy dress is at all times an attraction, and there is no doubt that many ingenious costumes, both dainty and humorous, will be seen at the ball.
