FREEZING DISPUTE
South Canterbury Position Bt Telegraph.—Press Association Christchurch, March 18. After discussing the position of the freezing works dispute in South Canterbury, Mr. 11. C. Revell, secretary of the Canterbury Freezing Workers’ Union, returned to Christchurch to-day from Timaru. Mr. Revell stated this morning that at ai meeting of unionists lasting two hours and a half the position was reviewed and a motion favouring calling off the strike was defeated by a small majority. The works in South Canterbury, he said, were fairly busy on account of the dry weather.
