PHILOMEL COMMANDER

N.Z. Term Nears End Dominion Special Service. Auckland, March 16. Advice has been received in Auckland from the Admiralty that the term of Commander E. Lyon Berthon as naval officer in charge of the Devonport Naval Base and captain of the training ship, H.M.S. Philomel, would expire in .September. Commander Berthon relieved Commander Nelson Clover early in 1931, and when he leaves for England in September will have spent two and a half years in charge at Devonport. No advice has yet been received of the appointment of his successor.
