HUTT POWER BOARD

1 The Hutt Valley Electric Power Board held its regular meeting yesterday, the chairman, Mr. S. Blackley, presiding. There were present Messrs. A. Walker, A. J. Hobbs, A. Anderson, A. W. Press, L. Stewart, J. Maher, W. H. P. Barber, and J. W. McEwan.

A resolution making it an offence for anyone to attach notices to the board's poles was carried unanimously, and the board’s solicitors are to be instructed to draft a by-law to that effect. Proposals to the Government for an immediate reduction in bulk supply charges were received from electric supply authorities of the Auckland province. The board decided to support three out of the four proposals. The board decided to extend the five per cent, discount on street lighting until June 30. Details ,of power sales from April 1, 1932. to February 28, 1933, were given by the engineer-general manager, Mr. E. F. Hollands.
