2YA Auxiliary

A Carterton correspondent writes appreciatively of the 2YA Auxiliary session from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., and suggests that “a little jazz” be included. “Being a lover of jazz, a milker of cows, and, last but not least, an early riser, I wonder why, if we wish to listen to a little jazz we have to sit up till 9.30 or 10 p.m. before we get what we pay our 30/- for,” he adds.

“It is full time the Broadcasting Board put on a morning session, starting not later than 7 o’clock, from all YA stations,” writes K.O.P. of Carterton, who is also of opinion that such a session should contain a “snappy” news bulletin. The correspondent continues: “What is the use of 2YA Auxiliary to radio listeners, anyway? If it is a national affair, to be used in emergency, it should be a charge against some other department, certainly not a charge on the Broadcasting Board’s funds.”
