ATHLETICS AT BASIN

Evening Meeting To-morrow

The opportunity of seeing competition between New Zealand’s best cy clists will be presented to-morrow evening when the season’s second electric light meeting will be held at the Basin Reserve. The champions, F. Grose, J. Wade, and R. Uhner, are to compete and their races are sure to be keen struggles. Miss Norma Wilson will run in handicap events, and it will be interesting to see if she can overcome the handicaps of other runners.

The excellent display given by the inter-house women representatives at the last evening gathering was such that their appearance will be welcome to-morrow. As well as a relay they will also have a 75 yards championship event. The proceedings will open with a grand parade at 7.45. Altogether the quality of the sport is sure to be of a high standard, and if the weather is good it is expected that a record crowd will attend.
