FIRES FOR MONTH
Decrease Over Year There were 17 property fires, two chimney fires, and 41 grass, gorse and rubbish fires during January, reported Superintendent AVooliey to the Fire Board yesterday. For the ten months of the year there had been 152 property fires (196), 89 chimney fires (80), and 155 gorse, etc., fires (151). The figures in parentheses are those for the corresponding period of the previous year. In addition, there were 19 justifiable false alarms during Hie month, and 13 malicious. The number of false alarms for the ten months was 220 (277).
