WOMEN’S DIVISION

N.Z. Farmers’ Union At the Dominion executive meeting of the Women’s Division oi* the New Zealand Farmers’ Union recently held in Timaru, the Dominion treasurer, Mrs. J. Pow, submitted a statement of receipts and payments for the halfyear ending October 31, 1932, and made an appeal on behalf of the community chest fund. Mrs. Pow stated that on account of the bad times, the organisation was called upon more than ever to help in the payment of nurses’ and housekeepers’ wages, and so the funds were becoming somewhat depleted. A much smaller amount in donations was received than in previous years, and the Women’s Division was having to spend consideraly more. Mrs. Pow thanked all ranches who had helped so generously, and asked others if they would fall into line and do what they could to help to “keep the flag flying.” After Mrs. Pow had answered several questions dealing with the statement sumitted, a vote of thanks was passed to her for all her work for the organisation.
