LONDON LAW COURTS

Celebration of Jubilee

(Reuter. —Special to “The Dominion.’ - )

The Law Courts, the familiar landmark at the East- End of the Strand, near the Grftfin, which marks the spot where Temple Bar once stood, and is still the boundary of the City of London, have attained their jubilee. It was at the end of ISS2 that Queen Victoria opened the great building, comprising some twenty Courts of Law, over 1000 rooms, and nine miles of corridors. It is estimated that well over half a million cases have been tried there since Victorian times. At that period it was not uncommon for a judge on horseback to dash into the quadrangle hard by Temple Bar in the morning in time for. the opening of the courts.
