SEEN OVER ALPS

Report by Ski-ing Party

CAPTAIN HOPE’S SEARCH

Paris, Jan. 22.

Interviewed on his way to London, Captain L. Hope said that SquadronLeader Hinkler, for whom he has been searching in the Alps, circled seven times over a party of skiers,, at the Diablerets, apparently trying to gain height to cross the ranges. Nine feet of snow had since fallen there, and the machine would now be invisible. Despite the conviction that Mr. Hinkler reached the Alps, a search is being continued in the Forest of Othe, near Auxerre, owing to peasants’ belief that they saw an aeroplane like Mr. Hinkler’s passing on the night of January'7. LADY BAILEY’S RETURN Paris, Jan. 22. Lady Bailey is leaving Naimey en route for London.
