CHAMPION RIFLEMEN
G. Nix Winner of Highest Aggregate DIFFICULT CONDITIONS : About 42 riflemen from Wellington, Wnirarapa, and Palmerston North competed in the Wellington Rifle Association’s annual prize meeting which was held on tlie Somerville Range at Trentham yesterday. There was light rain early iu the day, but later the weather cleared and the light was excellent. A strong right wind, however, made shooting conditions difficult. The entries this year were rather disappointing, showing a decrease of about ten on last year's shoot. Eight, matches were fire_d, for which cash prizes amounting to £B5/10/- as well as medals and trophies were awarded. Credit for tbp success of the meeting is due to the secretary, Mr. IP. AV. Me-. Quin, and his assistant. Mr. F. W. Onglev. Mr. T. H. R. Boon, range officer; Mr. W. Jackson, trench officer; and Mr. B. Dunn, ammunition officer, performed their work well.
