ASSAULT ALLEGED

Committed for Trial BAIL NOT ALLOWED Dominion Special Service Levin, Jan. IS. An allegation was made that he assaulted a young man and a young woman in the Levin Domain shortly after midnight on New Year’s Eve. when William Charles Norman appeared in the Police Court yesterday. He was charged with doing actual bodily harm to C. G. Harrison and Josephine E. McTaggart, and also accused of stealing a battery valued at £4. Accused pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was refused on the grounds that the charges were of too serious a nature. Messrs. E. M. Herrick and 11. J. Richards, J.P.’s, were on the bench.
