“GO TO RUSSIA”
Free Transport Declined
Toronto, Jan. 18.
As a climax to disorderly scenes in the City Council chamber, when an unemployed delegation cheered for Russia, the Mayor, Mr. Stewart, told the members of it that if they knew a better country they should go to it. The police were ordered to eject a man who. the Mayor said, was a notorious Communist and agitator, in trouble' in three cities previously. When none accepted the offer of free transportation to Russia, the Mayor ordered the hail to be cleared.
