At a swimming carnival held at the tepid baths last night D. 11. Symes made the time of 26 3-ssec. for 50 metres —3-5 see. better than the existing records for 50 yards. The 440 yards Canterbury championship was won by D. I’. Lindsay in smin. 21 sec.; the 220 yards breaststroke by E. C. Heard in 3min. 31 sec.; and the 150 yards backstroke by G. Low in Imin. 51 4-ssee.
