Thanks from Boy Bandsmen TRIBUTE TO LOCAL BAND A tribute to the hospitality of the people of Wellington, and a compliment to one of the city’s leading bands, is contained in a letter to “The Dominion” from Mr. J. S. McGowen (manager) and Mr. B. W. Caten (bandmaster) of the Young Australia League Band. The leaders of the party have written as follows:— “We desire before departing from Wellington to tender, on behalf of Ihe Y’oung Australia League, our sincerest thanks and appreciation of the wonderful hospitality that lias been extended to the members of our band on their present visit to your city. “We can assure the citizens of Wellington that we will carry away with us a very happy recollection of our first, visit to your Capital City. We are looking forward to coming back and playing a return season in the second week in February. when we will renew acquaintance with you all again. “At, the same time we would also like to express our deep appreciation of the generous assistance given us by the local bands. In (his connection we would like to mention that the citizens may well he proud of the Port Nicholson Band, whose playing is the finest wc have yet heard in the Dominion.'’ Wc are, etc., J. S.
