AUTOMOBILE SPORT

International Events GERMAN 1933 FIXTURES The list of international automobile sporting events for 11)33 includes ten great contests in Germany, a remarkably high number under existing conditions. The season will again be inaugurated with the international Gar-misch-Parteukirchen winter trip, from February 2 to 5. This popular meeting, which traditionally follows on the heels of the Monte Carlo rally, can celebrate its tenth recurrence in 11)33. Its climax will again be the races on the ice of the Eibsee. at the foot of the Zugspitze, Germany’s loftiest peak. The international Carl Benz "Sternfabrt” to Mannheim, from April 14 to 16 (Easter), in honour of the memory of the great German inventor, is expected to attract participants from all over the world. It will be followed, on May--20 to 25, by the great Wiesbaden automobile tournament, and May 21 will bring racing on the Avus track in Berlin’s Grunewald. The feature of this contest will undoubtedly be the return match between Carraciola and Von Brauehitsch. May 28 is the date for the Eifel* races on the Nurburg Ring, the always hotly contested preliminary to the Grand Prize of Germany. June will bring two events —the eighth Kesselberg races on the 18th and the thirteenth Baden-Baden automobile tournament, from June 26 to Julyl. The Adac mountain record races on the Schauinsland stretch, near Freiburg. heretofore always held in August, will come on July 16 next year. The auto season reaches its culmination on July 23 in the Great Prize of Germany, to be decided on the Nurburg Ring. The season will close on October 1 with a second contest on the Avus for the Prize of Berlin, arranged by the Automobile Club of Germany. This will be the first time since 1926 that this club has held auto races in the German capital.
