Election of Queen KEEN INTEREST IN VOTING Dominion Special Service. Napier, Jan. 10.

Lively interest has been aroused in the election of a Queen to be crowned during the Napier Carnival, which commences on Saturday. Miss Sheila Williams, the builders’ candidate, gain-

ed 147,083 votes, and was elected. Miss Winnie Murphy, the labour candidate, was second, and Miss Hazel McNattie, the unemployed candidate, was third. A dense crowd invaded Dickens Street to watch the progress reports on an outdoor screen erected at the Foresters’ Hall.

Miss Williams will bo crowned on Saturday in, the present of their Excellencies the Governor-General and the Lady Bledisloe.
