TRICK WITH ICE

Joke on Comedienne (By Mavis.) Dominion Special Service. London. Dec. 2. Someone played an ice trick on Miss Charlotte Greenwood, the tall American comedienne who owes her fame to the films but is now appearing in the Loudon play of "Wild Violets.” In one scene she has to prop open the door of an icc-clicst with one foot held ’as high as her head, and then pick up tt large block of ice off the floor and put it into the ice-chest. The ice usually weighs 501 b. One night, just for a joke, someone substituted a piece weighing 751 b. Oddly enough, she managed it.
