The Man, Not His Songs HAPPY THREE YEARS (By Mavis.) Dominion Special Service. London, Dec. 2. "'l’lie daughter of Eurico Caruso, the great tenor, cannot remember anything about her father. He died when she was only eighteen months old. Now a student at a private school in Baris, and a girl aged thirteen and a half, she is becoming acquainted with her father through the gramophone. Gloria lias a collection of "00 of his songs and every night in Baris she listens to the great voice of Caruso, remembering things her mother has told her about him. ■•Enrico's voice meant nothing to me,” Mme. Caruso said recently in London. "I knew nothing about music and was in love with Eurico Caruso the man. not the singer. But. I have taught Gloria to know her father by playing his records. "I never experience any thrill When I hear his songs. 1 wish instead that Enrico had made some talking records. As if is I feel merely that I am listening to a great artist, and not to the mail who gave me three years of complete happiness.’”
