THE BRAVE CAMERA
TTOLLYWOOD’S “bravest” motion picture camera has just successfully completed work in a scene with thirty Hons. Alone, and without the guiding hand of a cameraman, its tripod bolted to the floor and its electric cable sheathed in steel, the machine stood its ground against the onslaught of the largest collection of lions ever assembled within the walls of a Hollywood film studio during production of Cecil B. De Mille’s “The Sign of the Cross.” Through its use De Mille was able to obtain vivid, natural close-ups as the beasts charged down upon a host of Christian martyrs.
