WELLINGTON ELEVEN
Team to Play Hawke’s Bay . The selectors—Messrs. W. A. Aldersley, K. C. James, and. D. T. Cobcroft — have chosen the following team to-repre-sent Wellington against Hawke’s Bay, in the crocket match to be played at the Basin Reserve on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week:— M. Browne (Old Boys). E. D. Blundell (Wellington). B; Crook (Kllbirnie). C. S. Dempster (Pctone). W. Dustin (Midland). . V. H. Du Chateau (Old Boys). H. Foley (Wellington). B. Griffiths (Kllbirnie). A. M. Hollings (Wellington). K. C. James (Old Boys). B. E. Ross (Hutt). The twelfth man is C. Bilby (Institute). The team has been chosen on form, and should give a good account of itself. In Dempster, Dustin, Du Chateau, Foley, Hollings, Ross, and James, the team has a strong array of batsmen, while Crook (fast-medium), Blundell . and Hollings (medium), and Griffiths and Browne (slow), should provide a well-varied bowling string. The team has youth, and, therefore, should be able to move fast in the field, while Foley and Hollings are two slip specialists of undoubted ability. VICTORIA COLLEGE TEAM Visit to Taranaki The Victoria University College Cricket Club has written to the Taranaki Cricket Association stating that the club desires to send a travelling team on tour at Christmas, and would like to play two matches in Taranaki—the first at Hawera on December 28 and 29 and the second at New Plymouth on December 30 and 31. ' ... The matter has been referred to the North and South Taranaki divisional executives for them to deal iuacpendently. The North Taranaki division has advised the Victoria College club that it is unable to deal with the suggestion until after the forthcoming Hawke . Cup .fixture between Taranaki and South Auckland.
