SEA-LION VISITOR

In the Heathcote River Dominion Special Service. Clu-istchurch, Nov. 15. A sea lion appeared Heathcote p; ver near the estuary about a week ago. since when it has been attracting considerable attention. At first if remained in the lower reaches, but more recently has been seen further up the river near Woolston. The sea lion spends most of the day on the mudbanks, occasionally swimming into deeper water, where it presumably catches cels, the only food for it in the river. It is-unusual for a sea lion to come so far north and still more unusual for one to go so far up a river. The general opinion is that the sea lior is sick. - •
