TO BE REPLACED

Upokongaro Ferry Dominion Special Service, Wanganui, Nov. 14. When the ferry at Upokongaro on the Wanganui River was washed away by a flood some time ago the question of its replacement came under discussion at Wanganui nad Waitotara County Council meetings. Although the Waitotara county considers that the ferry should be replaced, the Wanganui county considers that it is unnecessary. The question of the replacement has been frequently discussed, but no definite decision has been made. At a meeting of the Wanganui county last week two members of the Waitotara county were present as a .deputation, and after long discussion it was finally decided to appoint Crs. D. Mackintosh nnd W. Craig to the. ferry committee with power'to act. It has now been decided to replace the ferry.
