SUPERANNUATION

Proposals of Government PROTEST AT PALMERSTON ' By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston North, Oct, 31. At a largely-attended meeting of superannuitants under the various Government superannuation funds, held at Palmerston North, the following resolution was carried:— “That we enter an emphatic protest ■ against the proposals of the Govern- ' went embodied in the Bill now before Parliament seeking to abrogate our . rights conferred by Acts of Parliament; rights which we worked and paid for. We desire to emphasise the fact that the effect of such an act of repudiation as that proposed will be detrimental to the credit of the Dominion and we are sure will engender distrust in any Government undertaking it and is . harmful to the best interests of the Government services. We confidently rely on our representatives in Parliament to uphold the honour of our Dominion and sanctity of contracts.
