LATE MR. S. A. LEGGE

Funeral Service at Karori The funeral of the late Mr. S. A. Legge', which took place at Karori Cemetery on Saturday afternoon was largely attended. The chief mourners were Messrs. J. and R. Hobday, of Christchurch, brothers of Mrs. Legge. The pall-bearers were Messrs. W. J. Moore, N. Poole, D. Macfarlane, W. Wilson, G. Shirtcliffe, and J. M. Phillips. Canon Sykes conducted the service at the Mortuary chapel, and the Masonic service at the Crematorium was conducted by the Revs. D. Calder, R. J. Howie, and J. R. Blanchard. Messrs. A. S. Palterson and Co. were represented by Mr. H. H. Newton (on behalf of the directors) and a large number of the staff; the Farmers’ Cooperative Wholesale Federation by the general manager . (Mr. J. H. Russell). Among those present were members of the Charles Fergusson Masonic Lodge, the Civil Service Club, and the Wellington Commercial Travellers’ Association. Numerous floral tributes included those from the directors and staff of Messrs. A. S. Paterson aud Co.’ (head office and branches), the Vacuum Oil Co., the Shell Oil Co., tbe Texas Oil Co., Ford Motors (Manawatu), the Farmers’ Co-operative Wholesale Federation, tiie Charles Fergusson' Lodge, the Civil Service Club, and tiie Wellington Commercial Travellers’ Association.
