Butter Market Very Quiet CHEESE PRICES FIRM Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd., have received the following market report from Trengrouse and Nathan, Ltd., London, dated October 25:—New Zealand butter: Finest, 108/- per cwt J’first, 98/-. Market very quiet. The New Zealand Producers’ Co-opera-tive Marketing Association’s weekly cabled market report from London, dated October 25, is as follows:—Butter: Market firm. New Zealand first grade, 97/to 98/-; Danish. 116/-. Cheese: Market firm. New Zealand white, 65/- to 66/-; coloured, 59/- to 60/-. FOREIGN. EXCHANGES Further Decline in Sterling ■

FROZEN MEAT TRADE Recent Shipments to. Britain The’ New Zealand Meat 1 Producers’ Board is advised by cable from its London office that the shipments from Australia and South America to the United Kingdom during the: first half of October wore as follow :— • Australia:. 39,844 carcases muttpn, 363.225 carcase's lamb, 29,340 quarters beef. ’ . South’ America: 7332 carcases mutton, 105,255 carcases lamb, 50 quarters beef (frozen),'l6B;o2o quarters beef (chilled). The shipments from New Zealand to the United Kingdom for. the same period were as f0110w:—86,292 carcases mutton, 81.286 carcases lamb, 8779 quarters, beef. The shipments from South America to the Continent of Europe during the same period were as follow.: —Mutton, nil; frozen beef, nil. ... Mount David Sluicing' Co. The secretary of the Mount David Sluicing Co., Ltd., advises that a return of 270 z. of gold was obtained, from six days’ sluicing. The manager.in his report of October II says the claim is being well opened up. The. work has progressed very satisfactorily. The actual values can only be shown when the area .of “bottom” on which the men arc working has its final clean-in, possibly in a fortnight or three weeks. ’
